Home-Cooked Diet Guidance

For pet owners interested in preparing balanced home-cooked meals for generally healthy pets, Dr. Loftus recommends using Balance It, a trusted resource for ensuring your pet’s diet is nutritionally complete.

If your pet has a specific medical condition that could benefit from a customized home-cooked diet or other targeted nutritional support, we encourage you to schedule an in-person nutrition consultation with Dr. Loftus. A personalized approach can make a significant difference in managing conditions such as kidney disease, gastrointestinal disorders, and food allergies.

Virtual Nutrition Consultations

For clients who live out of state or at a distance, Dr. Loftus also offers virtual nutrition consultations. However, due to Massachusetts veterinary telemedicine laws, these consultations are considered teleadvice and are more general in nature. While he cannot diagnose or prescribe treatments virtually, he can provide general nutritional guidance and help you make informed decisions about your pet’s diet.

Collaborating with Your Primary Veterinarian

Dr. Loftus is also available to consult directly with your pet’s primary care veterinarian, ensuring a coordinated approach to your pet’s nutritional needs. This collaboration allows for more comprehensive care, especially when dietary management plays a key role in treating ongoing medical conditions.
