Our urgent care service offers appointments within 1-3 days for evaluation of problems that require urgent attention, but do not require a trip to the emergency room. Appointments are available seven days a week, and can be scheduled by calling to speak with one of our client service coordinators.
We understand that the need for urgent care appointments is significant, and we are working to grow our urgent care service as quickly as possible!
Sometimes it can be hard to tell whether your pet needs an urgent care appointment, or whether they need to go to the emergency room. Here are some examples to help clarify which type of veterinary care your pet needs. You are also welcome to call and speak with our client service coordinator to help determine the right next step for your pet.
Examples of problems suitable for an urgent care appointment:
- Hot spot, skin rash, ear or skin infection
- New lump or bump
- Lameness (limping)
- Vomiting and/or diarrhea
- Decreased appetite
- Lethargy, decreased energy
- Blood in the stool or urine
- Broken toenail
Examples of problems where emergency evaluation is needed:
- Difficulty breathing
- Pale/white gums, collapse
- Multiple seizures
- Hit by car
- Any significant trauma
- Broken bones
These examples are not comprehensive, and it may be hard to know how serious a problem is before your pet is examined by a veterinarian.
Our urgent care service also offers appointments for euthanasia. We understand that the decision to euthanize a pet is incredibly difficult, and we are here to support you and your pet during your pet’s end-of-life care.
